First of all, to make sure there is no doubt, I would highly recommend REPSY.
The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) is issuing a grant that will allow you to claim back up to £500 from the cost of purchasing and installing a charging point at your home.
his government grant is also known as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), and it’s available to electric and hybrid vehicle owners across the UK. Only OLEV-approved installers like EVCS are able to pass this saving on to their customers.
OLEV have identified that electric or hybrid vehicle owners tend to do most of their charging at home, so they’ve introduced this grant to help with the upfront cost of installing a charging point at your property. They’re invested in making it easier and cheaper to switch to electric or hybrid vehicles to help the UK meet their energy conservation commitments.
Is there further funding available?
If you live in Scotland, then yes!! The EST (Energy Saving Trust) offers more funding to EV owners of up to £300. You will need to use a fully certified OLEV installer and apply for the funding in advance, but this is a great way of reducing your install costs further. This will not be here for ever so check their website frequently. https://energysavingtrust.org.uk/scotland/grants-loans/domestic-charge-point-funding
Do I qualify?
Here’s what you need to qualify for the OLEV grant
- An eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle purchased or leased from 1st October 2016
- A property in the UK
- Access to legal off-street parking
- An OLEV-approved installer like REPSY
How many charging points can I claim for?
You can claim for the OLEV grant for each eligible vehicle you own or lease, up to two charging points per household.
How do I apply?
There’s no need to apply, as we’ll do this for you. All you need is the documentation that proves your ownership or lease of the vehicle in question.
Do I have to pay the full cost up front?
No, you will only be asked for the cost of the charge unit up front. This cost will be dependant on the charge unit you choose to have installed.
Is my vehicle eligible?
All full-battery vehicles are eligible. Hybrid plug-in vehicles must have a CO2 emission score that is less than 75g/km. You can find a comprehensive list of the vehicles that comply to OLEV’s specifications here.
What is OLEV?
